The things I did instead

So it's been a journey to get here and being on the cusp of big change can feel really intimidating so here is a list of things I did when I should've been working on publishing my website and telling people that I’m a sustainable style coach!!

  • I read loads of books

  • Scrolled Instagram

  • Listened to lots of podcasts, some related, lots not

  • I watched telly

  • Made a hole in the wall between the kitchen and the sitting room to let in my light

  • Completely reconfigured our downstairs space inspired by the hole in the wall

  • I upskilled my video editing skills

  • I open and closed my laptop repeatedly without actually doing any work

  • I bored my husband and friends with all the reasons things could go wrong

  • Worked extra hours in my day job, which I haven’t done since August 2022

None of these things are that bad but I did them because I was (and still am) really scared of failing. The difference is if you're reading this I’m refusing to let my fear stand in my way and actually try and that's HUGE. Don't let your fear of  failure stop you from doing or being something incredible. Whilst doom scrolling I did see this gorgeous poem by Nikita Gill, that has stuck with me.
